Started another slow, hot day at 7 AM out of Sale Creek area with Catfish1 hitting a couple docks. 1st dock produced pretty good but quickly slowed so we headed for another which usually held fish but not today, emoScratch Around 9 AM Floyd, one of Jim's good friends called from the dock and wanted a lesson on dock shooting so we went and picked him up and continued lookin' for crappie. Floyd picked a slow day to learn dock shootin' as far as the bite was concerned, emoSleepy It was very slow but Floyd picked up the technique quickly and was shooting like a pro by end of the outing at 12 noon when he had to go cut grass. Catfish1 and I tuffed out a little more heat and many destroyer and chigger waves to catch a few more. The total was only 20 crappie, 4 'gills, 3 small stripes and 3 or 4 spots, one of which had a 7 inch eel dug into his side. I let the eel fall off and he died a slow death in the sun, those are nasty things and I'd hate to have one of 'em dug into my hide, :o All fish were caught deep today in at least 20 FOW with a water temp of 78*-80*. Maybe tomorrow will be better when Big Jim and I give the crappie in the 'Possum Creek area a try.
