Met Nauticman at 6:00 am at CFP to try and find some crappie. We got out early to try and avoid the hottest part of the day. It mostly stayed cloudy all morning so not too bad at all. Pete has fished Chick for a long time so with my little knowledge and his expertise we did manage a good catch today. We started on a deep dock and quickly caught 10 on BG Shad in various colors on 1/32 and 1/16 jig. As usual lately the fish are deep and want a very slow quiet retrieve with lots of pauses. We weren't keeping any fish today so we decided to keep moving and trying out various places. We fished some bluffs, more docks, and some open water structure. We caught fish at most every stop. Had some real good quality fish today and landed 51 crappie total with probably 10-15 being smalls. Looked like a storm was building so we headed in about noon.

As always a pleasure to fish with Pete and the new hot color was the total silver fleck BG Shad. I had some of this color glued up, but had neglected using it as I was caught up in the "blue frenzey", lol. Pete will post some more pics later.

Regards, Labman
