Patrick and I started off fishing main lake humps and ledges this morning. Didn't catch our first keeper till 8:00 on a swimbait. Caught two more keepers stroking a jig in 12 feet of water. Although we caught 3-4 more keepers, we couldn't upgrade. Ended up with a little over 8 1/2 lbs and finished just out of the money. Two side notes....the local weather idiots were not calling for rain today. Looked at The Weather Channel before leaving this morning and they were not forcasting rain. Took my rainsuit out of the boat. We know what happened. Also, I'd heard for years that if you're fishing with thunderstorms in the area, your rod can "sing". Supposedly from the charged atmosphere. Was always skeptical....until today. After the storm passed, we began fishing again. On the very first cast, I heard the buzz. It continued on every cast for the next 30 minutes. Sounded just like a cicada from far away. Kinda cool. Anyway, congrats to Scott and Andrew for the win.
