Hit the Chick this morning at 6AM with Alvin. Got there in time to watch some tourny blast off from HBSP. Lots of boats. We headed out and the spot I wanted to fish had 2 boats sitting on it so we went for plan B. Hit a grass flat in HB and after about 30 minutes of wandering around Alvin boats a nice 2.75 lber. A few minutes later he boats a 3.8 lb toad. About 20 minutes later I get in on the action and boat a 3 lber. All three fish came on 10" Junebug powerworms fished in the grass. So we had 9.5 lbs in 3 fish in about 30 minutes. Not bad.

Left that spot when the sun came up and started hitting ledges. Got on some smaller fish on our first ledge that were holding in 20-25 feet on a drop that goes from 15-50 ft. Boated 10 or so there with 2 catfish all on drop shot Powerminnows.

Left that spot and hit another ledge that does good this time of year and found the mother load of bait (see pics below). We boated 4 blue cats, 14 yellow stripe and only 2 largemouth of this maylay on jigging spoons and drop shot powerminnows. The school was moving all over the place and we eventually lost it but sure was fun while it lasted.

Hit the spot me and Tyler did so well on Tuesday and did not mark or boat a single fish there.emoScratch

Hit some docks right before quitting time and boated a 2.3 lber on a shakey head.

So totals for the day were 20 bass (2 spots, rest largemouths), 14 yellow stripe, 5 blue cats, and 1 channel cat. Our best 3 bass would have went 9.5 lbs and our best 5 would have went 13.75 lbs. We had 7 keepers total and the smallest keeper was 16". Not bad for 5 hours of fishing.

Hit Kevin Brown's for lunch, man was it good. Now time for a nap.
