craazyboutbass, Parksville, Rainbow Trout & Spotted Bass, 6/29/10, Shane
#1
Shane and I got on the lake around 5 this afternoon and we fished for about 3 hours.
We started off at the dam fishing mainly dropshots. Had a couple bites here and there... not much. We ended up with 2 little spots and a nice 2lb rainbow trout. Also had a big rainbow jump off at the boat. It looked to be a 3-4lber.
After the dam we headed up to the lake and try some topwater. Nothing... started marking quite a few fish schooled up in 25FT over 40FT. Dropped the dropshot to them, ended getting bit but missed it. Headed back out to the main lake and ran around some points with the depth finder. Managed 4 more spots with 2 of them going 15"... all were caught just off the bottom between 25-35FTOW.
Messed around a little while longer with topwater with no luck... headed back to the dam, no more luck there. Headed to one more point, ended up pulling in one more small spot to the boat.
Parkville is dead right now... seems like 99.990% of the spots are hiding down in the depths and not being too active.
Hopefully it will pick up soon, I think it will once the water temps get a few more degrees warmer. Usually that will put on a good topwater bite. Hopefully it wont be long, otherwise just go ahead and bring on the Fall and Winter! I miss the Float and Fly! LOL
Thats all for today, just an update on what the bite has been here lately, I know I could go to the Tennessee but theres just something about Parksville that keeps me going there LOL.
Be safe on the water, tons and tons fools being fools.
And emoSorry I do not have any pics. Did take one of the trout then the camera died before the picture saved emoDoh
