m17glock, chicamauga, crappie, 7/5/2010, glock" tore em up " jr. another tarp and 4 HOF
#1
rolled jr out of bed at 5am and he hem-hawed around about going .. finally decided he would go with me and we hit the water at grasshopper around 6:30am to 65f air and 82f water.
decided to go deep early and hit some vertical structure in 28 fow i started of with 3 dinks on the first 3 casts at a 12 count with a "smelt" 2" berkley power minnow while jr was still trying to wake up.
dropped to a 15 count and started keeping it VERY tight to the structure and started getting keepers emoBigSmile . jr finally started getting into the swing of the light bite and put a few shorts and keepers in the boat with one being 13-1/2 " for his first HOF of the day emoParty
they started getting lock jaw there (still plenty of fish to be seen on the humminbird SI ) so we went to try some dock shooting . we only managed 2 more keepers there but did run into catfish1 and friend floyd g , chatted for a bit with them before moving on.

tried a couple of more docks with no luck then scouted some bluff areas as well with nothing to show.
since we were close i decided to check out one of my favorite early spring/late fall floating docks . i didnt expect much because its only in 10 fow boy was i SURPRISED emoScratch
we started getting bit right off of the bat with PA crystal shads on a 6 COUNT emoScratch in 85f water emoScratch that was only 10ft deep emoScratch in the middle of summer emoScratch
and not just short fish but big fat SLABS emoScratch jr picked up his 2 and 3rd hof fish .
i gave catfish1 a call and told to get to where i was at if he wanted something for the fryer . by the time he did make it up to me the frenzy was over but we still managed to pick a few more good keepers off of it
including jr's 3rd TARP and 4th HOF fish of the day emoParty emoParty we left catfish and floyd with it to try a few more places but the water gnats and destroyers had the water tore up pretty good so we put the boat on the trailer at about 2pm and headed home .
ended up with 24 nice keepers and 28 shorts with most of the keepers going home with riverrat to help feed the foster kids he has living with him.

all in all another great day on the water .....

oh and i think my youngest is about ready to start going out with us emoBigSmile
and a picture of floyd with his fish
