Gator, Chick, Bass & Crappie, 7/16/10, Son-in-law
#1
I have my son-in-law here for a few days and he wanted to fish Friday morning. We arrived at HB about daylight to find an older gentleman with significant problems putting his boat in the water and I had to wade out and free his boat from being jamed between the bank and his trailer with some tied downs still attached and dragging his motor toter. He said his wife told him last night he was getting too old to fish but he went anyway, really nice guy but seemed lost for what to do. We got him fixed up and he went on out to fish, even saw him later near HB and he was OK. It was kind of Sad and I could see myself just like him some day in the future (not a pleasant thought).

We tried some topwater stumps for bass but not any bites, tried some drop shot for about an hour and no bites, then since he wanted some fish to take home we shot some docks until about 11am. It was not a good day but finished with 7 keepers, all caught near bottom in 20+ fow on 1/32 bg's except a couple caught with 1/16 oz jig head on some verticle structure. We left when the weather got HOT.

Still it was a good day to be on the water. Also we ran into Labman and Jerry who had just started out, hope they had better luck than we. emoBang
