Dont ask how I got suckered into this crew, but I did. Mom and I met Billy at the ramp before daylight, I know cuz he called whining about being scared to go down to the dock to try and catch some blue gills for bait because it is dark.....are you kidding me?
So he was empty handed when I arrived and we got moving. Hit my first honey-hole to catch some shiners and bluegills....it was TOUGH. A couple small gills is all we found, and to make it tougher I could not find the remote to my trolling motor, so Billy had to use the paddle to keep me in place when using the cast net. Billy busted his butt looking for that dang remote to no avail. Of course a couple hours later I found it right where I told him it would be. emoBang emoBang
We set up for our first soak, and all we could come up with was a 12ish lb blue catout of 39 FOW on a live bluegill. Of course while sitting there WLG had to start sending pics of the fish they were catcing 5 miles from us....emoEnforce He will tell you about it later I guess.
Moved to the next spot on my list and lo and behold that dang "Cat-ilac" of WLG's come cruising right in on me when I'm scanning the bottom! His big ol boat just barged right into the spot I wanted, and we setup with-in shouting distance of each other. After 45 mins and no action for both of us, we headed in different directions to find the bite.
Next spot lokoed really good, lots of fish and we finaly got another bite, Billy caught a channel cat about 8lbs on a small dead bluegill in 35 FOW. That was pretty much it, we cut out at 10:00.
Thanks for comng along Billy, we wil get you that big bite soon, I promise.
