foodsaver, Atlantic Ocean (Vero Beach Surf Fishing), Sharks and Catfish?, 7/30/10
#1
I went to Vero Beach last week on vacation with Christy. I went out offshore fishing on Wednesday so I had a 3 day license to use... I went to the local bait store and asked what to use and where to go. They set me up with some shrimp and said to find a place on the beach that didn't have too many beach goers. It took me about 2 hours to find public access that wasn't crawling with people so I finally got set up and started fishing. First cast I got a bite almost immediately and it was a catfish?!?!? Can't get away from them even by going to the beach! I rebaited and cast back out and also cast out my second rod. The clicker starts screaming... Hey this surf fishing is alright! I set the hook and the drag starts screaming for about 20 seconds and the line goes slack. Dangit whatever it was broke my line above the steel leader. Retie and cast it out and the other rod tip starts bouncing. I set the hook and reeled in a little shark. Ended up with 4 little sharks and the catfish and another break off on something big. It was a good two hours and I had never tried it before so it was fun. Next year I will be ready for whatever broke me off.

http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj8/bobaftt1212/Beach%202010/mms_picture_4.jpg
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj8/bobaftt1212/Beach%202010/mms_picture_3.jpg
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj8/bobaftt1212/Beach%202010/mms_picture_2.jpg
http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj8/bobaftt1212/Beach%202010/mms_picture.jpg
