hey i am just working up by there and i would love to go out at night and try to catch some fish but to be honest the only thing i know about it is that its really big. but is the fishing good most times or not really that great of a lake to fish please any info will help what to uses to what kind of fish are in there just some pointers so i dont look like a total fool in front of the guys

My daughter got a kick out seeing them at Ririe by the docks. Might take you're kids there to watch em.

I was up from Mcoy Creek near the Wyoming border for a good chunk of yesterday and today and had no luck. I tried spoons, rapalas, crawlers in various ways, power bait, and other methods and had no luck. I didn't try any flies but think I should have. Was nice to be out none the less although I find this a tough reservouir to fish. We had a canoe and also fished from shore.
I would not let this report stop you from trying as there are nice fish and plenty of fish in there.
I will keep an eye for kokanee in Big Elk but it will probably be Sept. before I get back up there. Hopefully a few times left to go out up there.
