fishinvol, Carters, Spots, 8-7/8-10, myself
#1
Got on the lake about 7:15 Pm and decided I wanted to catch some spots on light line for a while. Hit up a secondary point with some rock / gravely palces on it. Marked a bunch of fish, but didn't do great. Only caught one there, but it was a solid 3lber. Moved to a creek and fished a long point back there and landed two more off it. Niether were more than 14 inches. Still though, that's three keepers within an hour. Moved across the creek to a secondary point with some sandy areas on it. Caught 2lber there. It's now getting pretty dark, so I decided I would try a crankbait. I was still on that seondary point, so I i just parraleled the breakines on each side. Caught another 3lber . Decided to keep that crankbait pattern going. Just parraleled break lines off the points and secondary points. Ended up catching about 15 fish doing it , all by 11pm. So by 11pm I had right around 14 lbs or so ( that's pretty good up there right now) with a big fish of 4lbs. Well I guess dinner was over, because between 11pm and 3 am I only caught one more fish and it was 12 inches long. Didn't want a crank, spinnerbait, jig, shakeyhead, dynomite, nothing. So I headed home. All in all it was a fun night. I just love catching those spots !!! Fight so much better than a largemouth !!
