I promised the boys if they played hard and won their opener last night I would take them fishing this morn. With a 16-0 victory we were set. O MY GOODNESS WHAT A TREAT IT WAS!!!!!!!!! Started the morning greeting Mr. Simms @ the ramp with a couple folks he was taking out on a trip and started our way down the bank. We started out pretty slow but as the sun peeked out over the dam it was on!! emoTongue emoBig
Ty started with a solid 20" smalljaw PB, then next brandon hooked a nice LM, then back to Ty with a small LM, and I was sitting there emoScratch as I was smelling of skunk. Our bait had dwendled and died but with the last one on my line I locked in with a solid 3.5lb LM. We headed back for another bait run to the pier and come back down to the flat. The water had picked up quite a bit but that didn't matter!! The boys double up with 2 more solid LM with Ty's being a freakin hog in the 4lb. range!!! Then I was sittin there with a single fish to my name for the day when Brandon no more than drops his line in the water when ANOTHER smallie smashed his bait. It was an 18" solid keeper!! Well I knew it was time for me to step up so I moved on down the bank and made a nice long cast and man did it pay off!!! I hooked into my PB smallie which was a solid 4+lbs.(take a guess guys emoScratch ) We had an amazing morning and as usual the switch got turned off and absolutely nothing happened for the next hour so we called it quits and headed to the house.
