My brother came up from Florida for some Tn river blues. Cathooker and I took him to the old faithful hole and we were not disappointed. We started the day at the crack of dawn and ended up around 3 pm. Absolutely beautiful day to be on the water. Mild tepms for August and a slight breeze all day. No river chiggers or wake boarders or pleasure boats to deal with so it was a most peaceful day. Fifteen minutes after we started Alan boated a nice 7 pounder and after that the bite was on. We caught fish literally all day long. Most were under 10 pounds and that was good because that is what we were after. We could not pinpoint any pattern as the fish were scattered from 18 to 60 feet of water. Some were suspended and some came from the bottom. Cut skipjack and chicken were the baits used. Tally for the day in ascending order was. 4oz, 5-1 to 2 pounders, 12- 3 to 4 pounders, 4-5 pounders, 3-6 pounders,3 sevens, 1 ten, 2 twelves, 2 fifteens and big fish was a long pretty 16-1/2.
Lots of fun with my "little" brother and a great friend.
We finished the day off at the Dockside restaurant with some amazing chicken salad sandwiches.
