Fished alone this evening... took the first cast around 5:30 and the last at 8:50 or so.
Started the day off with hardly and luck at all. Fishing from points with dropshots to banks with t-rig/finesse & blades. Over 2 hours of trying to find something work, I boat 4 small spots and a small largemouth. emoDoh
Moved around alot today, but never really found any fish anywhere. No schools of fish, anything I marked on the graph was just by itself and didn't take anything. I was just dead out there...
Finally found a place that was holding lots of fish around 8PM... lots of shad too. The fish were having a big feast on the shad. Lots of schools joining together chasing the shad on top.
Started off throwing a Spook... had a few hits with it but never could get a hook up. Down sized to a crappie jig, thats when I started wearing em out.
http://i244.photobucket.com/albums/gg9/c....jpg
This was the first fish on the crappie jig. I also catch 2 more white bass on it in the next 5 or so minutes. I filled the boat up with alot of small spots and even a small smallie!
Didnt catch anything over 13" but shoot it was a blast! Bite every cast on light tackle, you gotta love it. Did see a couple good sized spots chase some of my little fish to the boat. Next time I will be putting a bream out there while fishing with the crappie jig. Hopefully they stay in this spot for a while, it sure was fun wearing em out for a little while... must've caught 20-25 fish there. Once it got dark they shut down and I headed out.
Nice weather again this evening, and pleased that I found a few fish to put in the boat... not to mention catching my first ever Parksville white bass. Pretty sweet! emoCool
