drumking, chickamauga, crappie, 9/2/10, alone
#1
I got out at mid-day by myself to do a little fishing for bass and/or crappie. I didn't know that a wind storm was raging on the water or I would have stayed at home. Very brisk winds were blowing at the Wolftever/river flats but Labman and Polo with a lunch guest M17Glock were hunkered around a floating marker that Labman had thrown. I just joined them. I did ask if it was ok and they said sure. Norman told me that I was 12 fish behind, and I didn't get any closer than that. Only managed 2 or 3 yellow bass before tiring from battling the wind/waves and dodging the cruisers that wanted to run between all of us.

So, I found a quite place to crappie fish, but the crappie didn't want to play either. One slimer bit my little jig (2 lb blue). I did catch a crappie for Mom for supper. Wanda and I had thawed out Walleyes for dinner, but Mom likes the crappie better. It was white capping and the wind seemed to be getting stronger the longer that I stayed out there, so I decided to just go home and do other things. I won't be back on the water until Tuesday. I'm leaving the lake to all the holiday and tx guys this weekend. It will be a zoo out there. No pics and a lousy fishing report.

Labman, Polo, and David, I sure did enjoy our little conversation and watching you guys catch those yellow bass. I was just either too soft or too stubborn to put on a smaller spoon and get in on the yellow action. I was trying for a lunker largemouth. emoBigSmile emoGeezer
