Starvation and the old bass pond
#1
I was out in the basin this weekend and did some fishing. I hit Starvation on Sat morning. I was on the water by the bridge before first light and soon after I started to catch smallies and didn't slow down until about 8:45. I fished from my tube. I didn't catch any walleyes. It was really windy also. I caught all the bass on a small lindy fuzzy-grub and a worm. Hey fishnpro40, It was nice to meet you and your fishing buddy.

On sunday I fished the old bass pond and knocked out the gills and sunnies, but had to work really hard to get any bass. I hit the water from shore at about 6:30 and fished to 10am. I caught 23 gills and sunnies and 3 bass. All the fish were small. I caught all but one gill on worms. I caught 1 gill on a crank bait. I caught the 3 bass on buzzers.

Great report TCF, where is the "old bass pond" you are talking about? I'm really surprised you didnot catch any walleye at starvation, it's full of them. You need to get together with Curtisfish, I'm sure he can put you on to a few walleye. WH2

Were you on the east or west side of the bridge at Starvation ? Is there access on both sides . I wanted to come but got some fishing in closer to Salt Lake . I had this water on my to do list . Nice report !!!!!!!

Hey hellsangler, the access is on the west side of the bridge on the left hand side. If you have a 4x4 you could get right down to the water just a little east of the bridge. Its a little steep, but for me it wasn't too bad.

Hey WH2,
I wanted to catch some eyes, but I forgot my fish finder at home. I had a idea where they would be, but I couldn't find them. the bass just kept takeing my jig. It was hard tring to stay in one place in my tube because of the wind.
Allso if you go to starvation be aware that there is a lot of logs floating in the water for some reason.

Yes we will, I was thinking about maybe doing some camping next mouth at the old bass pond and maybe doing some fishing.

Thanks for the info TCF, at this time last year we fished Starvation and did good for walleye. It's hard to fish anywhere when the wind is a howling. Unless there has been alot of run off it is strange to have so many logs in the water this time of the year. WH2
