Corey and I met up at the Wolf this morning and ran up to the Nuke again to spy again and for Corey to be my interpreter for my "H'Bird sidewinder!" {I still don't know what I'm looking at?} I still would like to know just how many of those National Guard wraps are out there? Anyway 4 of the 8 boats that started out there yesterday were back for a repeat performance I suppose. One recognized me from yesterday and spoke. Then we managed to get a few new comers into that area, National Guard boats! These guys are really comfortable with fishing close to each other for some reason. Another odd thing to me is none of them are fishing the grass like you would at the Nick or the G? You would think that someone would be fogging, or flipping / punching the mats, throwing top waters, but all of them seem to be fishing small worms, shakey heads and so. I have seen them catch a several of small fish but nothing close to a 3 Lber. Corey caught 6 or 7 fish on a small fluke with a funky little jig head. He and me down 3 / zip really fast! I only caught three with him but I think they would all have measured. A brief rain shower came in and Corey didn't bring a rain suite and had another appointment anyway so I ran back to the dock and set him free. I went back out [glutton for punishment} and got another 3 and lost a good fish about 4 1/2 to 5 lbs! All my fish were on a spinner bait in the grass. All told, just it's tough out there right now! It's September! But the grass is healthy, and looking really good for the advanced fall fishing. Just My opinion!
