Finally got the opportunity to make a trip to the Chick today. Got up at 4 am this morning and was headed that way by 4:45 am. Arrived at tiner boat ramp by around 6:20 am where I was to meet up with BassERT who arrived just a few minutes later.<br />We fished out of his crappie pro175 today and boy, I gotta get one of these boats.<br /><br />Pat was the guide today and when we got to his first choice of the morning, wouldn't you know it but someone was already sitting on it. We headed on off to the second choice spot just about the time the pros were cutting loose for the fishing tournament.<br />As we was running up the lake, Pat said " Look Behind Us". As I did I saw them boys coming just tearing it up. I don't think we out run a single one of them. emoLaugh <br /><br />We arrived at our first dock of the morning and proceeded to shoot BG Shads. We tried various depth counts without a nibble. We were thinking it wasn't going to happen for us here and was just about to move on until a single crappie hit a jig on the fall at a count of 4. We quickly adjusted to this shallow depth and suddenly started pulling doubles. Ended up boating 30 crappie at this one spot. <br /><br />Moving on, other docks produced only a fish or two (which probably held more) but the wind was picking up and the chop on the water was making it difficult to hold the boat in the proper position. Got so bad we eventually gave up and headed to a wind protected creek area. These fish here seemed to prefer a jig in a pendulum presentation. We continued catching fish but the bite was slowing as the day wore on. We ended up calling the day at 51 crappie. Pat said I couldn't count the smallmouth which would have made it 52 fish. emoPoke<br /><br />The hot colors of the day were Mo Glo Pink and Cajun Cricket. A couple of fish were also caught on Bluegrass.<br />Had a blast fishing with Pat today as he was very entertaining. Not a dull moment. Just can't believe he wouldn't take my fish off for me though. Go figure. emoBig
