Went to Nickajack on Friday and fished until just after noontime trying out a new line of rods that I am a sales/field staffer for. Fished the river edge aroung grass mats and trying buzzbaits and frogs with no success and finnally caught a couple of fish on an AZUMA Wake-Z One of which was a good solid keeper and the other just shy of 15" after the sun started to burn off the fog we started looking around because we were not seeing any bait, so we started looking in the creeks and coves and found that the water temp was about 1 degree cooler and started finding bait and seeing some schooling fish. We threw several things at the schoolers with no success, it only seemed to spook them. We started punching nearby mats and caught several keepers and several that were just short of keeper size but no big ones today. All in all had a great day especially since I haven't been on the water in a month. Also wanted to mention that I am now a sales rep for Big Bear Fishing Rods. This is an outstanding line of rods with a super cool unique grip and great quality. Check them out at www.bigbearfishingrods.com and dealer inquiries are welcome. I wll be meeting with Jimmy Anderson from Top Dog Tackle very soon and hopefully he will be carrying the Big Bear line. If anyone is interested in these rods shoot me a PM and I will get my phone number to you.
