The Fall is starting to roll in, and this time last year was about when I stopped fishing. This year, my brother in law is back in town for good, and we're gonna start doing all the outdoorsman activities, such as hunting and fishing. The weather isn't too cold yet, averages in the 70s or high 60s, so are the largies active? Any specific lures you guys have had success with in the cooler temps?

Fall is a great time to catch bass. They are very active this time of year. Winter is coming, and they will be gorging themselves to prepare for being lazy during the colder months. Shad are on the menu for bass at my lakes. The bass want to get the most bang for their buck, so to speak, during the fall. They don't want to waste energy. They are looking to get as much meal for their energy as they can, so I throw shad imitation crankbaits during the fall. They are a good reaction bait, and you can cover lots of water.
Good luck!

Crankbaits are my faverite as well in the fall. Gold color as well as white work well for my area.

Hell yeah!! The shad rap is my go to bait in the fall! Up lake Erie i would throw mine out to 28' of water and bring it up a drop off that came up to about 12' or 10' and the minute i felt the bill start tapin the bottom WHAM! nice largemouth. Caught them all day doing that. THey funny thing is my dad had a shallow diving X-rap on and he was not catching anything. I gave him a deeper divin shad rap and he started to get into the fish to!

Pike you got me stoked now brother. Saturday I'm buying my hunting AND fishing license, and I'm thinking Saturday night my bro in law and me might hit the place up.

Good! Let us know how you do. The thing to remember is not to give up. Keep throwing that crank. Move around a little, find out where the fish are at. Once you find them i promise you will catch some.

I certainly hope so. I've only caught 2 out of the lake, 3 total this year.
