Bull & Cow Hunt- 2010
#1
Well started off my Elk hunting and did not get the big bull I was after. I got a phone call during my hunt that took me off the mountain. My cousin (45yrs old) passed away and i was asked to be a pallbearer. I hunted that evening and took the bull I called in. A nice meat bull 3x3 . I was off the hill the next morning. I also had the cow tag for the same area so I was able to take her also... So I headed off the mountain halfway thru my LE Bull season with both animals. I saw many big bulls but too far away or on private land. I passed up some 5x5's and 5x6's the first couple days... see pics attached. You can see inside the little hootch I built to provide cover for the evening I took the bull and then home sweet home in the mountains. Good luck to everyone on the rest of the hunts..

Sorry to hear about your cousin. Kind of a bummer. Nice job on baggin' the elk! That's gonna be some good eats right there.

Sorry to hear about your cousin. 45 is way to young. Congrats on filling the freezer though. Looks like that will turn out quite the stack of meat.
