Jim and I braved the wind this afternoon. Put in around 2PM and fished til 7PM.
We stayed on the upper end today, since we knew it would be too windy to fish any points down the lake. Plus we wanted to see what was biting up there.
Fished all day pretty much beating the banks with jigs and worms. The numbers of fish were really low, but caught a couple decent ones. Most fish came off jigs. The biggest was a fat 17" spot, with a couple 15-16 inchers in the mix. Managed 2 largemouth as well, both being keepers. At one point I had one start swimming off with my jig and when I set the hook I couldn't pull it up and it started shaking his head really hard like a big ol spot. Well my 15lb flouro broke there. 10 seconds later we hear a big splash behind the boat, probably the same fish trying to spit out my jig emoDoh
It was probably a 4-5lb spot, whatever.....
We ended up with 10 fish and 7 were keepers. Not bad, but it was a slow trip. Had quite a few fish biting but most would spit your bait out before even setting the hook emoRolleyes
May get out there again tomorrow, hopefully I will get revenge on the big one that broke off. emoWorthy
