I did double duty today. Had to. No other choice. Tuesday is the only 1/2 day that Phillip get off and this week is the fall break at the schools and our biology teacher (Biofisher) asked me over a month ago to take him crappie fishing while he was off. This is the only day this week that I could do it, hence, the double duty.

So, I started off with Phillip at 7:30 this AM. We fished fast and furious downriver and landed 24 crappie of which Phillip kept one limit for a fish fry that he is planning with his 4-wheeling riding buddies. We fished Bobby Garland slab slayers in the ghost color with a tiny tail light and it fooled every fish. I had one nice spotted bass and Phil caught a bluegill that were released. We released the 9 fish that were under 11" long. Boat limit size for the Tyner Lane shuttle. I also caught my 2nd turtle of the year. emoBig

I dropped Phillip off at the ramp at 10:30 and picked up Gary and off we went. This time I went upriver to keep from going over the same places that I fished this morning. It was a good move. Biofisher and I landed 34 total crappie (28 keepers for the freezer for Gary), 1 smallmouth bass and 1 yellow bass. We fished bg shads and slab slayers in the ghost color all day to land our fish. We probably fished with 1/32 oz jigheads more than 1/24 or 1/32 oz. We fished bluffs, docks, and blowdown trees. We got onto some fish on a good blowdown tree and after 2 fish were put in the boat, the wind gusted up and although we caught a few more crappie from that tree, I think that we finally spooked the fish from having to run the trolling motor to get off the tree so much. emoBang

We went back down river and talked to Jesse (dock owner) and his wife, Marie, for a few minutes. Earlier in the day we had stopped and talked to them for a while and really enjoyed the visit. I shared a couple of jigs for them to try for crappie that are nearby. Super nice people, so I encourage all you guys not to abuse their dock. Jesse told me yesterday that he was looking for 3 jobs for Marie to help pay for the dock, so if there are any employers out there who need someone for about 5 hours per month (Marie's desired hours to work) emoBig
then let me know and I will pass the info on to them. Enjoy the pics. I'm going to bed and rest. emoBig
emoGeezer

Boat totals today: 58 crappie. 1 smallmouth, 1 spotted bass, 1 yellow bass, 1 bluegill, 1 turtle, 1 catfish.
