Since I had to be in Winchester for an apointment late mrning, I met Rick at daylight and we launched to find some of those monster Tim's crappie I keep seeing.

As we round the corner to the first honey-hole, Rick says some bad words and turns away saying, it had a boat sitting on it.
off to location number two. It was a brush pile near a dock. Started catching fish right away, but all shorts. I think we got about 12-14 fish there with only a keeper or two. I was starting to think the jinx was in full effect. Rick said lets go check the first spot again, and started cussing.... as he was trying to pull out into open water, the trolling motor wasn't working at all.... He was looking at me, I have NO idea why. He flipped every switch on the thing and then it just started working again.

The spot was empty this time and as before its brush near a dock. We did much better there, catching fewer fish but more keepers. It was till too slow for Rick, so off to another spot. The next place he told me we would get bigger fish, and he was right. Still no huge numbers, but these were all over 12" I would guess. Again, brush near a dock was the ticket. This is also where I caught a small blue-gill that while I unhooked him he took a HUGE crap all over my shirt. Gee, thanks little blue-gill! ( I should have use him for cat-fish bait!)

One last stop, and this is where Rick earns his "Elite Guide" status folks. I would never, ever have thought about fishing this spot. Its a full cast from a dock, two full casts from the bank, and in 30' FOW. We were getting the skunky feeling when I finally found the fish deeper than anticipated and we proceded to catch some of the best fish of the morning. The only TARP came here, a nice 14-3/8" Blacknose for me.

Its always fun fishing with Rick, although I do have to admit, I put it on him this trip. It must have been the bait, I was throwing a 2" BG in Patriot color I think, of course tail dipped on a 1/32oz head. Count varried depending on the brush depth, so anywhere from a 3 to 15 count. Rick grilled me for the name and tried to buy some at his local bait shop on the way home. LOL We ended with a total of 36 fish, and 17 keepers, although we tossed a few right at 10" back early on in the morning, (Rick won't keep those "baby" fish)
I never thought about looking at the water temps, air temp was about 43* when we started.
Oh and we got about 3 blugill, one small LM and one baby SM to round out the day.
