Muskrat, Chickamauga, crappie / bass/ cats/ etc., 10-20-10, alone
#1
Another beautiful day to be out on the "Chick". I tried a different routine with just some "old school" lazy fishin' with live bait ( minners ). My shoulder just won't get quite right from so much spinner / crankbait casting so I'm giving it a rest. I think I could use a cortisone shot. I started up Wolftever around 9:00 am and caught a half dozen crappie and one bream but none of any size. As a matter of fact I think I caught the smallest crappie I've ever caught - haha. No big deal as I just enjoy going up thru there this time of year with the changing colors of the leaves and the reflection on the water is worth the trip. I headed back out of the creek a little later and decided to fish the other side of the islands near Island Cove marina that I hadn't fished before. I just put out some rods and got busy cleaning on the boat and not "working" to catch fish and it paid off pretty well. I caught a "hodge-podge" of fish all in the same area just drifting over maybe a 200 yard area. It started with a yellow bass ...drum...a channel cat - a nice crappie - another channel cat - then "three" channels on all three rods at once ! What a hoot ! Some little fellers that would have been good eatin' but I decided to let them go. My last fish was a bass a little over 2 pounds. All of the fish were caught on 4-6 lb. test line on crappie rods which was a "kick". One of the rods I used was probably about 65 years old that my dad fished with. It was a nice change of pace from all of that "work" I usually do to have my fun.

Jeff
