I do have to take credit for catching the gizzard shad in a net that caught this one, but obviously credit is due to Mike Mitchell for putting me on this 49 1/2 inch flathead. No scale in the boat, but this fish was a holy terror, and I hardly got it to turn around. The flattie took drag several times on a 6500 c3 combo. Mike forgot the scale, so we guestimated around 50 lbs. We immediately left after that as I thought there&#39;s no way we could top that, and I had my drive back to Chattanooga.<br /><br />I love Wheeler, kind of like some of you guys and what you think about Guntersville for bass, I wouldn&#39;t want to fish on any other lake for catfish.
