The bad... The elk creek area was not producing well on Sat. I caught a sucker and a cutt. The slush monster started to show its ugly head.

The Good... I had a great day of Kokanee fishing on the bay side of Big Elk Creek. We just had a wonderful Kokanee dinner as a result.

We also met Steeladdict and he directed us in the direction of a good trout hole. Had a wonderful afternoon of trout fishing. Caught my brown for the contest.

The ugly... On the way home over the dry farms I was watching the snowmobilers and listening to political radio (I blame this on Rush [laugh]) and actually forgot I was driving. I almost hit the gaurd rail head on but ended up swerving and hit the back quarter pannel of my wifes car. I also ripped up my luggage rack and threw my ice fishing stuff all over the place. Thankfully everyone is ok. I will focus on the road from now on.

Glad you got some of the kokes. They are great for making a slow down become a good day. I fished the bay this afternoon and also caught tons. Biggest was once again 13". I hear yesterday a 17" one with red side was caught.
Did you get any decent sized ones?

I didn't catch any big ones. Steeladdict caught one that was pretty big still had some red on it.

Thanks for the information sure made a great day for my kids. Just got done eating those kokes fried in light coating of olive oil, sprinkled with lemon pepper and rosemary. Wow!!! Kokes are my new favorite fish to eat.

Ya, I was going tell you but after an experience like that I decided I had better pay attention in church instead of telling fish stories.[]

Paul was very helpful. We spent all Sat. evening staightening out my luggage rack, welding etc...

I got out this morning and fished by blowout. I got a limit of trout. All between 16 and 20 inches. 1 brown and the rest cutts. The brown was really weird. I swear it was a hybrid with a rainbow. It had a bunch of metallic blue and purple down its side and face. Then I also got a really big chub. Not sure what species it was but the biggest I have seen. Prob 18inches. Had a prominent black strip in the middle of the tail. After that I went down caught my limit of kokes. I caught 15 in 20 mins. I t was a great morning.

I don't say this for the intention of picking on you, but I think that the cuts are now no longer on the "keepable" list at palies. Might want to double check on that. Just giving you a heads up.

Check the regulations again Chris. Palies Resevoir is a general rules water. The tributaries are catch and release on the cutts.

Regs say no taking of cutts from Palies tributarys, not the reservoir itself.

Just checked the regs again and well, I sure feel stupid. Put BOTH feet in my mouth there. I had only looked through the regs once and was surprised when I thought I saw that "new" rule. Should have double checked before I said anything. [crazy]
