Hometown Angler Nets Big Bag In Mexico
#1
MAZATLAN, Mexico - Waxhaw, NC., resident Roy Lowe recently visited Anglers Inn of Mazatlan, Mexico and claimed the "Big Bass" award at Lake El Salto. The group's largest bass tipped the scales at 13-pounds, 08-ounces. Lowe not only bagged the big bass, but he also caught 127 fish during his 3-day fishing trip. This marks the first time that Lowe has visited the lake.

"The service at Anglers Inn is second to none," said Lowe. "This will definitely be an annual trip for me from now on. My trip was in late January 2011, and the bass bite was amazing. I caught fish on crank baits, Zoom Watermelon/Red Lizards and YUM 10-inch worms (Black/Red flake). In 3.5 days of fishing I caught 127 Bass and 1 (5lb.) Tilapia. My biggest fish for the trip was an 8lb., 9lb., 10lb., 12.5lb. and a personal best 13.8lb. You cannot imagine how good the fishing is unless you actually come and see it for yourself. This is a top rated 5 star resort."

When fishing El Salto the tackle selected becomes crucial as the lake has a strong reputation for trophy bass and big daily catches. Lowe was prepared with his Quantum PT Flipping Stick and Quantum PT high-speed reels spooled with Berkley 100% Fluorocarbon line. Lowe caught most of the largemouth bass using a Zoom 8-inch Watermelon/Red Lizard.

The Anglers Inn staff has been guiding highly successful fishing trips since 1979. Located in the Sierra Madres, Anglers Inn sits right on the shores of Lake El Salto and offers full accommodations to fit any need.
