I was able to try out 4 different lures over the week, and I would like to review each of them.
11" Curly Tail Grub (Purchased from http://www.lockettluresoutlet.com)
This was just a fantastic lure. Used the Silk and the White, and the muskies were biting it all day long. The quality of this lure is unlike anything I've ever seen. The body of the grub is close to 1.5" in diameter, and it is made out of some TOUGH soft plastic. The big tail on this lure put out lots of action in the water, and was thick enough not to be bit off all the time. I used this lure w/ a 6oz glo jig head, which was also purchased from the same company.
8" Twin Tail (Also purchased from http://www.lockettluresoutlet.com)
This is a very unique lure. I've tried the larger shrimp lures (next review is on that), and this was just superior in quality. Almost .75" in diameter for the body, and the tails were also very strong and weren't but off, but had good movement in the water. I used the glow in the dark lure also with a 6oz jig, and also tried somewhat of a texas rig with it. Both methods worked well.
9 1/2" Twin Tail Scampi (Purchased from http://www.unclejosh.com
This is the lure that gets a bad review. Made by Kalin's (owned by uncle josh), I would expect something a little better. The tails were very thin, and were bit off several times. I used the hot pink w/ silver flake w/ a 6oz scampi jig. The body was pretty thick, but its odd shape didn't give it as much action in the water as the other lures I used. I would call this lure a failure, which is a word I never had to use before for a Kalin product.
3oz Striper Swiper (Also purchased from uncle josh, made by atom)
This bait did very good. Went with the red/white, and had no problem getting bites. The lure is very well made, and the first lure made by Atom I ever used. I don't usually straw away from my soft plastics, but this lure earned the right to stay in the tackle box.
