US Open at Mead starts today
#1
For all of you bass fanatics, the WON US Open on Lake Mead is Monday /Tuesday /Wednesday this week.

That means there are 150 or so boats running all over the lake. If you are on the lake, be careful. Also, be courteous. These guys are competing for a first place prize of some $50,000 and a new boat.

This is a great chance to meet all of your childhood fishing heros. KVD, Rick Clunn, Aaron Martens, and many others are fishing, so find yourself at Callville in the afternoons when the boats come in for weigh-ins. Ill be there today I hope.

KVD is not there but Martens and Clunn are. Aaron is has the day one bag with 12.98 pounds. What a treat it would be to draw one of those guys as a AAA. Im gonna try and go out maybe later today or tomorrow and do the fan thing. I was thinking about trying to follow one but then realized I only have 200 ponies.[:/]

Yeah, I had that one wrong, no KVD. I dragged the wife and kids out yesterday, but we were too late. Got there just as the last bass boat (Aaron Martens himself) was pulling away.

You can ask my wife... I predicted Aaron to be in the lead after day one.

I thought I read in Bass Fan that Rick Clunn was retiring?

Clunn was there. Maybe this was to be his career capper. Aaron Martens won, for the third time. Fishing, apparently; is not as lucky as it appears[Wink]
