Tried CJ after not fishing there for a few months. Caught a few 10" chunky bass, but no keepers. Lots of little guys biting but not getting hooked.
Caught a few decent perch while fishing for bass.
Tried all kinds of things to find crappie, and only caught one the whole day.
Only good part was having a fresh perch dinner the next evening.

We were there also. Did decent on the bass no great big ones but like the others lots of babies. Tried to find the perch did manage to catch one good on but that was it. I dont know if anybody has the secret to crappies on CJ this year but I'v been humbled a number of times trying for them. Usually give up and go for the Bass. I can usually manage to scrape up a few of them. Any help would be appreciated. My ego has been severly damaged.[:/]

My wife and I caught about 30 crappie at Strike on Sunday. They are biting so light you almost can't feel it. My recommendation is use a very sensitive rod and watch for the slightes movement on the tip to signal a bite. They are a little smaller on average than last year though. We also caught a bunch of perch. We only fished for about 4 hours...

Were you in a small aluminum boat in the narrows, close to shore?
