Eagle Valley Reservoir and Haymeadow Reservoir.
#1
Hello all. Lately I have been tired of Mead and ventured looking for other venues to fish! Mead is unpredictable and I get devoured by mosquitos there. I recently bought a inflatable boat and added a trolling motor to it. The perfect fishing boat to fit in my Altima! The first weekend I made two trips to Eagle Valley Reservoir. First I loved the mountains and the fact that I was away from Vegas. Eagle Valley was fun. Every cast was guaranteed a bite. The trout in there were all stock size but put up a good fight. The following weekend (this weekend) I went to Haymeadow Reservoir up north. The first day I went on my float tube. I had a blast. I caught my first fish in my float tube. Now I went with a small trout pole thinking I was going to get stockers. Those damn trout are huge. 7 ripped my line. They were monsters. They also jump all over the damn place and look like Salmon shooting out of the water. I caught 15 trout that day. All decent size ones. I caught a couple small LMB also. Nothing worth while on those guys. The second day I came back my girlfriend and our dog ( colorful poodle! Best dog ever) came along and hopped on the boat. This day was different as I caught 3 trout and around 20 LMB's. One was huge. Pictures are as follows, I thought you guys would enjoy!

Yep, I like these areas for fishing also and they are not too far that it can't be done in one day. Although it is alot of driving. If I leave by 3 am, I can be on either one of these reserviors by sun up. I almost always catch my limit at Eagle Valley.

If I plan to go out more than a day, I sometimes hit Cave Lake or Ellipah Reservoir near Ely.

Sunnyside is a great place for trout fishing. LOTS OF BIG TROUT are in the reserviors up there. my biggest out of cold springs was a 7lb rainbow.

my biggest out of cave was a 10lb Brown, biggest out of illipah was a 4 lb rainbow. but i know there are some very large trout in illipah. i lost a few bigs ones out of there.

if you really want to get addicted to up north fishing. Go try pike in comins lake. only place i know not to far that you can experience pike. I had one up to my boat once that i am not joking had to be almost 6' long. i couldn't get it in my 14' lund and my line snapped.

lvfishingdude, That is awesome you caught a 10 pound brown at cave lake, I love that place. I have not been lucky enough to catch a 10 pounder yet. Do you have any pics of the brown? Comins pike fishing is very fun!! I have never seen a fish that is not scared of humans, they will follow your lure right to the boat, look at you and either eat it or swim away. I have only fished illapah one time but have heard a lot of good things about it.

We hit Haymeadow not to long ago and there was a couple drifting right along with us that just killed the larger trout, several over 3+ lbs. All of them were hitting on gold hammered spoons. All we caught we stockers...

For Trout

if u are shore fishing at sunnyside i recommend the green/yellow colored powerbait with speckle.

if u are trolling or throwing lures super dupers either silver or gold work great. a killer secret i will reveal for me is the orange/tiger striped kastmaster. the big trout love it.

bass..... basically trolling you will accidently catch a few big bass. i am not a largemouth bass fisherman so just about anything probably works there. yet the orange castmaster has decimated a few from 4-7lb buckets.
