Been searching and searching for any info on the fishing on the Weber after the split in Riverdale. Has anyone fished this area West of I-15? I did see some reports on catching some Cats down there. Interested more so in Browns, etc. Are those spill-ways, (canals) not sure what you call them, guided the water into Willard fishable? Haven't seen an regulations or reports on anything through there either.

Interesting area. I have caught a couple trout on flys down there about 10 years ago. What I did end up catching a lot of was Blue gill. Found a swampy area below 1900 w. I used to hammer blue gill there also. Not the greatest area for fly fishing. tried the area behind 21st st pond 3 weeks ago...waist of time.
Catfishing can be a little hit and miss night crawlers did the best. they heavly planted channels in there at 12th street about 15 years ago. My best friend caught a couple Box turtles on worms right below 1900 w.
By the time the Ogden and Weber make it to that area there has been all the run off from Ogden and riverdale streets and businesses and all the farms up stream. The water slows down so much that I believe the polutants tend to build in the river by the time it reaches that area so don't expect a lot.

As hardy as catfish are I would think their are still some there. I have heard there are some lower in the marshes. It never was awsome except after the plantings.
