Going to be near the Fishing near Laughlin area the weekend before Halloween. Were are some good fishing and camping spots?

I have fished the river on casino stretch and came up with some decent trout and strippers. A month ago i was done at Topock Marsh and we did well with the small mouth. Thats about all i know in that area, unless you hit the south end of Mohave.

Last year around this same time I was down there and tried fishing at the camp/picnic area just a mile or so north of the bridge on the Arizona side. It was like 5 bucks to get access and gave you tons of beach to work all the way up to the bouys by the damn. All I had was my big striper swimbaits and did not get anything. I did notice trout jumping all over the place but I had no smaller gear. I talked to another fellow who was slaying the stocked rainbows on typical trout lures. I imagine huge stripers cruising nearby[cool]

I saw the Davis Camp Park next to the beach and parking lot.
What about way upstream, is the camp ground just below the Davis Dam (Nevada side) open?

Nope, cant get on the nevada side from the bridge to the camp area unless you swim. [cool] I drove over there and its like all official looking with fences and stuff. You might be able to park and hike down to it, but from the camp area you can work from the damn all the way down to the bridge. You can even climb under the bridge and continue down towards the casinos if you want. I heard theres a pier somewhere near the casinos, but I never fished near the casinos. There are various dirt roads that can get you to the river downstream past the casinos. There are some nice cove areas I saw that probably held bass. The cove areas are near bends in the river all within a few miles of the casinos. The access roads are not obvious though [laugh]
