[#ff0000]I was going to take the family to Jordanelle this weekend but things didn't work out. I think I'll drag the boat over to Mantua or Hyrum or maybe Pineview Saturday afternoon/evening - Any one want to show me how to fish? Drop me a line if you would like to go! [/#ff0000]

I promised the kids a fishing trip this weekend too. We'll be headed to Hyrum Saturday morning but we'll be shorebound down by the dam on the south shore (likely). Troll past and say "howdy". Hopefully we'll all have some good fishin to report about. Gotta do some chores in the afternoon.

Hey fishnate, what do you use from the shore at hyrum? Also, have you been out to newton lately; thinking about heading out there to see if I can get a muskie. Thanks

It's gonna be a bit of a learning curve for me this time since the water is so low. For bass this time of year there I usually catch them on twister-tail jigs, plastic worms, spinnerbait, crainkbait, and wooly buggers (I've caught big perch on some of this stuff too). For the trout, I figured I'd rig simple, Powerbait and crawlers.
I haven't been out to Newton for a couple weeks, but the last time out I posted my observations about a sizable fish kill there. Dead fish included small to mid sized bass, bluegill, and perch. I would think with the cool down the fishing could be pretty good for decent sized fish. I have no clue about what is going on with the musky, they are probably fat and happy with all the dead and dying fish.
