When I was a kid we lived on a small farm Northwest of Preston. I think my favorite time fishing was when there was enough snow and ice to get on the old polaris snowmobile with my dad and ride to one of the few lakes that were open for ice fishing. Condie was about 15 miles on the snowmobile and as undependable as snomobiles were back then, I can't remember once of having to walk back home. We had to make sure all the chores were done before we left and always had to be back in time to milk the cows at night. We would put our ice fishing gear under the seat with a small lunch and have a great day on the ice. My fishing pole usually consisted of something to wrap some line around with a bobber to set the depth of the bait and also to detect the bites. Really simple way to fish and a great memory with my dad. I really don't remember if we always caught our limit, but it seems like my dad always could get some fish to bite for both of us.[
