would you dive into the lake to get a lure back? A treasure...
#1
After replies from my tackle box post .. I have to make this one..

If I lost the Balsa wood Tennessee shad lure you see in my box I would dive to get it back.

I caught my largest bass of my life on that with my dad when I was only 14 years old.

He was in B.A.S.S. and I got to be observer that year with a pro that went on to be a classic winner.

but that one lure I still have it. I would dive 20 foot and get it back. Would you do that for a lure? I Open my box and see that Tennessee shad lure and know I might catch the biggest bass of my life.

maybe not on that lure but it's there and I remember how great it was fishing with bill dance and my dad and others back then and that lure is my focus.

any of you have a lure you cherish like that?

Have to edit and say this is in reply to tackle box...

my best bass in my life was on the lure you see in the bottom right. I still have it.

I am 49 years old. I got to test strike king lures with my dad and bill dance was his friend and still is.

This thread only needs responces if you would dive into water to get a lure you cherish...

I would for that one that caught me my best bass in my life.

I know alot of you will say why even use it if it means that much to you?

because most of my biggest bass I catch on it in spring.

I'll jump in and chase a bass down for that lure back.

but I still use it.

I'd dive after my big AC plugs. Why? Because they're so expensive =)

Dang you brought back memories,I had monthly subscriptions to B.A.S.S.So, do you remember the mannipulator worm, every month,I would get some hooks, line, bullet weights, and bait, usually these worms, this was back before the Lukinani were introduced to S. FL,just bass back then, nothing but bass! baby!,it was awesome,I'd get out there everymorning, the bass were lined up along the bank just waiting for a live worm.

LOL,My buddy Alfred used to subscribe to bass master ,but he said they never sent him any fishing stuff. I was once trolling that same big lure I caught my lunker with,I was at some lake, and I used weight to get down deep, but I got a snag on a rock, deep!.I needed my mask and fins,so broke it off,and came back and snorkled the area, finally I found it at around 35 to 40' deep, seen all kinds of stuff down there.

I might for a lure, matters on what it is. But, I am the only person in my immediate family, like my mom and dad, and siblings, that fishes alot. My dad will occassionally, but my little brother wants me to teach him so i take him out alot. I made the mistake of letting him use my new spinning setup. It was about 160 dollars, great reel, while I cleared a tangle from his pole. The lake we were at was so clear you could see every little thing. As i was clearing the tangle, i heard a splash. I looked up and my pole was gone, and i saw the tip of it. I took off my shoes and dove in. Luckily im a great swimmer so it wasnt hard to dive down maybe 20 feet to get it. But for an expensive setup like that, i'd probably do it again.
