Mantua or Pineview tomorrow

Im taking my pontoon out for its first voyage tomorrow. Mantua is my first choice but Pineview is my plan B if anyone wants to come along.

What time are you going? Been thinking to try Mantua, but I have to pay my mornig dues and get thru the egg hunt madness. BUT I thihk that'll give me a bye to float the afternoon away. Should be nice out!

Is the dock out at the launch area yet? Be nice to get on it before the weeds take over again! Plus I got some new frogs to pitch at the brush and trees!

I met up with OldTroller yesterday morning. beautiful day on the lake. Im pretty sure OT got 3 trout before i even had my pontoon in the water. I landed 2 nice size bass right off the bat. I had caught dinky bass on my fly rod before but these two had some nice weight to them. My personal record for LMB for sure.Those were the only fish i caught but I was not disappointed. I had plans so I didn't stay out very long. OldTroller stayed and probably caught every fish in that lake. Dude is an excellent fishermen! Hope he chimes in and shares his report.

Thought I would try Pineview this morning even though I knew going back to Mantua would be a better idea. I should have went with my gut (Mantua). first off the the gate was still locked where i like to fish so I had to carry my pontoon pretty far..so that sucked. I fished shallow..deep.. around brush..etc. And..nothing. Then more nothing. The water was still really cold my feet were going numb even with waders on. It will be a few weeks before I go back to PV.

I ended up with 17. One really nice bass I got a pic of on my phone but not sure how to load it from the phone. Two bass total and the rest were trout.

I stayed til 8 and earned every fish. I tried every line/trick I had. I would get one or two fish when I switched up and then it would go dead for almost an hour. It was a great day. Too bad you had to split.

yeah i wish I had just gotten there earlier. There are very few things that will get me to quit fishing and BBQ is one of them.haha..
