Lake Mead (Echo) 4-21-12

Madi had a B-Day party to go to so a couple co-workers have been asking to go so brought them along. Dang it was HOOOOOTTTTT out there. 97ish and I put on SPF 50 3 times and still cooked my face/neck. We were cooking all day. Dunking our shirts in the water, hats, etc trying to stay cool. I even went for a swim. I was hot but more importantly lost a spinnerbait I wanted back in 7 foot of water. lol Anyways caught +/- 30 or so fish today. 15-20 smallies, 5-10 large mouths and several Stripers. I seen a Striper that had to of gone 30+ pounds. My jaw dropped. I was just scouting a area and didn't have a rod in hand at the time. The smallies are on beds and protecting them. The SMB females have already laid the eggs. The large mouths as far as I can tell have not bedded yet. Only males out and about scouting. We caught a bunch of smallies on bed with finesse worms. I was drop shotting a finesse all day on the smallies and having a BALL. Man do those guys put up a fight! I also caught a very nice 3.5lb large mouth on a drop shot. What a battle. Medium light rod and tons of FUN!

Plenty caught on square bills and spinnerbaits too.

They were all returned back to their beds unharmed.

We didn't take too many pictures today at all but here is a few.
