WINDY. That wasn't in the plans for today! 20-30mph I suppose until the afternoon. Sure made fishing a grind/work out Caught about a dozen smallies, one LMB and a couple stripers. Sight fishing was pretty much shot. Even after the winds went down the water was so churned up one couldn't see all that far. Got a couple smallies on drop shots in some protected coves.

The smallies are pretty much done with the spawn as far as I could tell. When I could see the bottom in areas they "should" be at I didn't see any beds. I did see some fry out and about in bushes in the water so they are leaving the beds and venturing out. As far as the LMB I have no idea where they are hiding at. I caught one little one today. I didn't see a single one back in any of the coves that I could see in with the winds/mucky water.

I "had" the biggest smallie to date on the line today. It's new name is half in the net... That is as far as he/she made it. Madi went to scoop him up and her reach ended a pinch short and she lifted hitting him mid body and out the hook went. At least a 4 pounder. Very nice one. Oh well to be caught another day.

I was out May 1st in the afternoon and found the smallies "locked" on beds but I was up at the east end of the Narrows and water is cooler there. Saw surprisingly few nests and they are deeper than I'd expect in some cases....15 to 20 ft.
