Big regional bass tournament this week. Heard the leader (a guy from Washington) had 5 smallies that weighed in just over 20 pounds. Lots of bass boats hauling butt all over the lake. I think it ends Saturday.

The boys got pounded today. Top bag was 11 pounds today. Yesterday was over 20 pounds. One poor guy sunk his boat in the Bruneau Arm today. Hope the wind settles down soon.

CJ gets pretty nasty when the wind blows especially in the Bruneau Arm and Narrows. We had one of our members sink his boat back in 2007 in the Bruneau Arm when he took a wave over his transom. Luckily he was only in a couple of feet of water and was able to push the boat to shore.

I speared 4 waves thru the Narrows on my way back to the ramp that day and was glad my bilge pump worked great. BTW I was the only one to catch fish and weighed in two 3 pound Largemouth.

The sunken boat has been recovered. It really just filled with water and the main motor wasn't ever submereged. Saw it htis evening at a local hotel with all the rod lockers and gear storage open and drying out and the thing was still dripping water. I guess that guy will be a non-boater tomorrw. I feel horrible for him, traveling all the way here and having that happen. My buddy speared on this morning, and we took a couple shots last friday. Crazy weather.

FYI, Idaho is about 50 pounds ahead of Oregon, and they are significantly ahead of Washington. Montana and WYoming are trailing. THe leader as of today was Eric something form Wyoming, Jason Hicks lead yesterday, but is now a pound or 2 behind. It is gonna be a close one. ANyone interested, the weigh-in is at 2:30 tomorrow at th USAF ramp.

I am bettin the crappie are as tight lipped as the people on the forum this week. Weekend post will be better. I will probably be out there Sunday. If i make it out there i will let you know how i did.

My neighbor said he heard of some people catching good crappie in the narrows and a few big perch around crane falls area in deep water. He said he saw pictures from two different people with 12 in perch. I gottta get me some of that.
