Strike 6/11
#1
Went to Strike yesterday for some crappie fishing from shore. Tried three different spots, first below the dam, then Cottonwood, then the narrows without much luck. I caught one tiny smallie and a single female white about 13". She was so full of eggs she looked about ready to pop.

I'm wondering if the poor fishing was due to the water conditions. There's an alge bloom going on, and underwater visibility is poor. It's worse in the narrows than further up. The water there was like pea soup.

It's supposed to be warm all this week, so maybe I will give it one more try before writing off shallow crappie for the year.

That's a bummer! Judging from the forum, the weather seems to be messing with everyone's fishing.

Thanks Stacy. Were the boaters getting any?

I didn't talk to any boaters coming in, I'm afraid. Only saw a few go out. One couple in a small skiff got close enough for me to see how they were doing when I was at the narrows. They weren't catching anything either.
