Does any one else have trouble using Wapsi SLF dubbing - specifically the Prism dubbing?
I like the colors and the reflective properties of the dubbing but for me it is a pain to tie with. I have difficulty getting it to stay on the thread, let alone. evenly. I have used several different brands of wax to no avail. These synthetic fibers just don't like me!
Does anyone have a technique that makes synthetic dubbing easier to tie with???

Try using it in a loop. I do and it works fine.

I think that has been one of the hardest things being a new tyer, I have the same problem with rainbow dubbing that I use for my rainbow warriors.

It helps a lot to mix it with some rabbit of similar coloring.

It can also be a problem of trying to use too much dubbing at one time, try to use less and wrap more. Use more pressure in the pinch and roll and try to roll farther down the finger.

One more thought. While you're there at the shop buying it ask them to show you how they dub it. All the shops here (I am in Salt Lake County) will show you how to dub and even tie an entire pattern if the shop isn't packed with customers.

It is a pain for sure. Like HFT mentioned, less dubbing possibly. I also use a coffee bean grinder and make the stuff a little finer.
Dubbing loop can create a very nice bushy effect. But try taking a clump of dubbing and keep pulling it horizontally. This will get all the fibers going one direction and when added to the loop, will create a wonderful chenille.
