I'm taking my brother and his two boys out tomorrow for some shore fishing and wanted to see if anyone has had any luck lately. It'll be the boys first time out (6 and 4 years old) and I'd very much like them to be able to at least reel one in each so they don't hate it right off the bat.
So if anyone has been out and know where the action has been, I'd love to hear it.
Thanks!

Not so hot, unfortunately. Went out to Gov't Wash as it seemed from photos and google maps like it would be possible to park right by the water rather than hike, which it definitely was. Got a few bites, and one of my brothers hooked into a 1-2 lb LMB that threw the hook about 3 feet from shore on a jump. The boys were much more interested in throwing rocks, collecting shells, and playing with the frozen sardines than actually fishing, which could be due to the slow action, or maybe because they're crazy little kids. One of the campers (residents?) of Gov't wash said it's actually been fast action out there in the early morning, but we didn't get out until around 11 or so. I'll be heading out again on Sunday to see if it's as good as the guy said, but I think I'll leave the nephews behind on this one.

Well, I had some "Luck" Saturday, we were headed out and ended up with a broken leaf spring on the trailer [frown] guess it was "Bad Luck"
Thankfully it happened on a parking lot speed bump, no one was hurt, and AAA sent a large tow rig to bring it home...

I'll be out at the magic hour tomorrow. Just picked up a new Spook and my first set of yamamoto senkos, so we'll see if those help my quest for larger bass.
Are there many (if any) smallmouths in the gov't wash area? I'd love to add another species to the list.

Yeah, there are plenty of smallies down there. Might connect with one on the spook.
