Soldier Creek on Saturday-FINALLY A DECENT TRIP!
#1
We launched off at the Soldier creek ramp on the north side, by the highway, I didn't mark any fish for a long time and I thought my locator was not working worth a crap. We hung by the shore and nada, finally went to the middle and started marking fish deep, 45-100 ft.
My daughter got a 21" cutt trolling about 5 feet under. We caught 4 good sized rainbows and 5 small 10". We trolled along the steep shorline.
Now I finally found my icefishing area.
I found it hard to believe that with so much water, there were so much empty areas.
The wind turned real bad so I'm glad I had an extra battery to get back to the dock. It turned COLD!
All fish were released. While we were there, a front end loader was pulling up all the docks. I feel sorry for the boat that didn't make it back on time. We missed alot of strikes, used rapapas, flatfish, small kastmaster.

I'm glad that I wasn't the only one catching dinkers in sc... I'd say more than half our fish on saturday were under 12". Smallest I have ever had from that lake. But I will say a bunch of small fish is better than no fish! Nice report and thanks for sharing

Interesting comment about your fish finder.... about 10am Saturday mine decided not to ping fish below the thermal barrier.

I didn't ping a single fish for the last 90 minutes of our trip.

And we reeled in 6 good-sized Cutts.

Bad. Too shallow unless you fish by cliffs. Very weedy by shore.
