Wanting to take the wife and kids fishing tomorrow, but I'm concerned I'll get a lot of resistance to the idea of driving all the way to Strawberry (where I would prefer to go).
Considering Rockport as an alternative. Anyone been there recently that can comment on how the fishing is? We will be fishing from shore this trip.

I was up there today about 2:00 PM and fished from shore just south of the boat ramp for a while using only artificial lures and got nothing. There weren't any other bodies out there anywhere I could see so I'm guessing the fishing isn't all that great.

I'd rather fish in the WalMart parking lot ponds during a rain storm than Rockport. The fish gods have cursed that wretched place.
Go to the Berry.

If you haven't been lately you wont believe how far down it is!
I don't know which direction you're coming from but I second the berry.

Thanks for the replies. Ended up at strawberry. Only two slot cuts though. But my 6 year old sure enjoyed reeling one in.
