Updated Bonneville WF fishing report
#1
updated Tuesday 12/4:
Whitefish are now being caught in better numbers and we are starting to see a few females in the mix. I would imagine the run will peak about this weekend then last another 7-10 days. I have caught whitefish at ALL rocky shoreline areas on both sides of the lake. First and Second Point should both be great. Try about 10-15' of water and then move about 5' shallower or deeper if you're not getting the bites. The bites have been pretty light, so detecting them is tricky. Light line (4-8 lb test max) will enable you to see/feel the bites and a light rod helps too. I've been using an assortment of jigs, small spoons, jingles, etc. They have all worked. Seems like color has not been terribly important, but today was cloudy/snowy and black and chartreuse were both really good producers.
