2nd attempt....E-lake Hard Deck!
#1
With the high temperatures being around 20 degrees the last few days at E-lake the ice should be stable and growing fast. Heading out first thing in the morning to for the second attempt in the last week. With 5-6" of fresh snow I'm planning on taking the monster quad. If the ice isn't thick enough at E-lake the back up plan is gooseberry. Hopefully I won't Barry the quad on the 3 mile trip to gooseberry. I will post ice and fishing conditions when I return. Good luck to everyone venturing off on the ice. Think safety and everyone who wants you to return home safe at the end of the day before doing something dangerous!

We fished Electric Lake on the extreme north end on Saturday. The northernmost small bay was frozen with anywhere from 4 to 6 inches of ice. We first fished Boulgers Reservoir and quickly became bored catching small rainbows (most are around 7 inches long and a 12 incher is a trophy) and ventured over to Electric Lake, after a DWR officer told us there was a small area that was fishable. Catching was not fast and furious at Electric Lake, but we caught several and many were substantially larger than the ones we had been catching earlier.

Be real careful with that quad on E lake. The ice went from 5-6 inches to completely open water within about 30 yards and there now will be snow on the ice so you may not be able to see where the ice becomes thin as we were able to.

Thanks for the information. I will not be fishing the north end. I will unload on the north end and ride the quad to one of the fingers towards the middle of the lake. I will drill several test holes on the way out. I do not take my quad out on the ice. It is about 2 miles from the north end to where I fish. I ride down the logging road until the end and walk another 1/2 mile to get to the area.
