I've heard word of fishable ice on the north end over water up to about 9 feet deep, maybe farther out by now. The really shallow stuff had ice over 6 inches, but it was 2-3" over the deeper areas.

That was a week ago though. [signature]

This was my report on eclectic lake from last Tuesday. There is about a foot of new snow from the recent storms. You will need a snowmobile or good quad to get to the lake or you could hike in from the highway. I'm going back Wednesday and will post the ice and snow conditions when I return.

good luck getting a Quad down there now! even one with tracks will have a hard time. with 4 to 5 foot drifts along the road going to the boat ramp..

a good snowmobile is about the only good way other then walking a long way in deep snow!! [signature]

4-5 foot snow drifts in a week? Those track kits go in some serious powder! I sold a prowler 1000 with a set of Camoplast tracks from big pine last year. We had that prowler in 6 feet of snow wit,h 3 feet of fresh powder. I was completely amazed where it could go.

You do realize I was just up there a few days ago with my quad? Made it in and out no big deal. If it's too deep I will take my sled. It's really not that big of a deal.

you do realize that it has snowed up there for the last 3 days right?

you make me Laugh. telling others here on the board that they will be able to do it is not the best idea when conditions have changed a lot over the last 3 days.. but what do i know? [signature]

I have been watching the snow totals on snotel from the last few days. They actually haven't changed much in the last few day's either. Only 8-10" of new snow at most weather stations across the skyline.

I'm sorry I questioned all your friends who drive by there everyday. I guess they are more accurate than a weather station.

Thanks for the info fellas! We actually drove past Elake and went on to Hunington, much easier access. I guess I'm not as die hard and some of you hard core guys. Hunington ice was around 6' with about 4' of good ice. It was very slushy so if you decide to fish there bring wanders or waterproof gear. Among four of us we caught around 20 fish, all Tigers cept one cutty.

hang on there weather station boy,i use snowtel alot and all it is giving u is current depths.we have had some nasty winds for the past few days, and blowing snow has a tendency to make drifts.so try to think before u send a buch of fisherman in there on there four wheelers just a thought.

Wow Tyler, this is hilarious, telling a local fisherman like fuzzy what's going on in his own backyard. But whatever you have an app on your phone so you know what's really going up Fairview canyon, forget Dan Pope, I'm going to PM you next time I wanna know about the weather!
