Looks like the main lake is frozen over, but there are clearly some thin spots - shiny/wet looking. There is little bit of open water by the ladders.
I started driving to the soldier creek ramp area, but did not bother pushing through all the snow to get all the way there (must have 4wd with very good tires to get there). All of soldier creek is open water around the marina. Hardly any ice on the edges around there.
Ended up going out on the ice in the bay just south of 40. Ice was 6-9 inches thick in most places I drilled, but there were some obvious areas of thin ice to avoid. Open water was within sight of the road.
Fishing was slow. Small schools would move through periodically and tap a few offerings, but leave just as quickly.
Forget trying to drive down the road to the soldier creek dam. Deep snow drifts make it virtually impassable.
